Even without the catchy 'madness' of Gordon, BNL still manage to create perfectly crafted tunes that stick in your head for months...Life, in a nutshell is incredibly cheerful, lifting you up whenever you're down, Great Provider has fantastic acoustic guitar work and great lyrics, and Alternative Girlfriend is just, well, fantastic. More brilliance from the 'Ladies!

I've got this CD in my car and it has become one of my favourite BNL albums. As alwas the lyrices are insprired, "A" is a great example, and there's a good variety of tempo etc. Buy it and enjoy :)

That's right, I'm a grumbling fan of BNLs early work - this album for me is the last of their great work before the rot set in and they started to sound like any other radio-friendly middle-of-the-road rock band.
The album flits between the unaffected joy of their debut album (life in a nutshell and My Alternative Girlfriend) and a more serious approach marked by a collaboration with British pop songwriter Stephen Duffy. The standout track by a mile is 'Everything Old Is New Again', an intriguing ditty that may well be their best ever song, and is worth the price alone...
