I have brought three of these for use with a Tamron 55-200mil, a Canon EFS 50mil base and a Canon EF 18-58mil and it does the job perfectly. I brought it primarily to protect the lens but it also reduces 'wash' in some over exposed shots and setting the WB is also notably easier as it filters a lot out.

Good value....had to wait a little longer (as advertised) but price was worth the wait. Camera excellent...had forgotten after years of point and shoot how much more rewarding SLR photography is.
