Amazon Verified Purchase
Considering the cost of the Canon LPE8 battery, this version from Maxim would represent exceptionally good value. I use this battery as the main power source and the Canon for continued use when out in the field, etc. To date, I've had no issues, it holds its' charge and last as long as the Canon battery. Both are used in a Canon EOS550D. So what more is there to say?.

I was a bit worried about buying a non-Canon product, but I needn't have been concerned. This battery is great! It performs to the same standard as my Canon original battery. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to any Canon user.

Alternative Battery For EOS 550D
I bought this as a backup battery for the Canon one that came with the camera. It has been in the camera for a couple of weeks and is maintaining its charge. Seems OK.

Why pay full price for the branded product when you can get an identical (if not better) spec product? No disadvantages at all so it's a no brainer really - great product
