Useful little module, but documentation particularly poor/non-existent, so beware! The main thing missing was the Bluetooth ID code for the unit. It turned out (through trying different combinations!) to be "1234", which is often the default but didn't appear to work the first few times I tried it. Have yet to use the PC software, as I ended up just using the freeware version of Torque for Android on my mobile. Other than the documentation issue, build quality seems good, and once connected it stayed that way for most of the session, with one or two short drop-outs of connection. So, overall...good! To save you hassles: 1. Plug the unit into your car's OBD slot and ensure it has power (red LED will light). 2. Initiate bluetooth, entering "1234" when the PC/phone asks for the BT ID. Check that the LEDs on the module then flash in a sequence. You should now be connected, and can use Torque or any other OBD application (several freeware PC versions on the included mini-CD).

Took a bit of time to arrive but that was not big deal. Once it arrived plugged it and downloaded the app for my Galaxy S2 and it worked a treat. It's worked on my Alfa Mito, my wives Suzuki Swift, my daughters Seat and my sons Astra so all in all really good. Really useful thing to have when your engine light comes on or you just want to know whats going in in your engine.

I bought this, half expecting it not to work well, but willing to risk the £4 price. Pleased to say that it turned up and is working fine. I had no difficulty connecting it to the car's OBD port and then via bluetooth to a generic Android tablet, running KitKat and the Torque app (which is free).

The connector pins and the plastic housing seem robust enough, but I am not sure how the plastic housing will stand up to regular heavy use, drops, etc. Some of the more expensive readers look more rugged, but at £4 I think the build quality is more than reasonable.

As other users have said, the documentation is very limited and the bluetooth PIN is "1234".

Lack of documentation not a real issue at the moment, though, because the hard work is being done by the Torque App, so I can get a whole host of real time and historic readings for speed, revs, engine load, fuel consumption, acceleration etc., plus reporting of fault codes on my tablet.

I appreciate this isn't of help to those who are going to have to use the scanner's own software, although my advice given the popularity of the Torque app and its ease of use, would be to go down that road to analyse the data from the engine and just use this scanner as a transmitter in conjunction with a smartphone or tablet.

For the money, very pleased with the purchase.

It works. That is about all one can say, as the function beyond that is down the the quality of the smartphone Android / other smartphone app or whatever software, and to the understanding of the user. From that point of view, it is better to buy this or one of the similar devices than a handheld ODB scanner: The hardware investment is minimal and you will at least be able to read the basic OBDII 'Emissions Relevant' fault codes try and to take advantages of any improved or OEM specific App that might be available.

I got it as a handy glovebox tool for when friends ask 'What do you think is wrong with...?' and because I had no other tool to access my Honda S2000. My first 'serious' use was because I had left the professional 'VagCom' kit for VAG cars at my office that weekend. Using the Torque app for Android (£2.95), I got the fault code which confirmed the obvious, and the 'Freeze Frame' data which was more useful. (The Torque app also has a number of other fun but not particularly useful functions too, and many people will be happy playing with those).

For £8 (+ £2.95 for the app), it is a bargain.

I really struggled to set this up at first and to connect with the car using an Android smartphone as there are no instructions to speak of only a CD which seemed to have many files but none that seemed to stand out as instruction material.

I downloaded one of the many OBD2 apps from the app store and spent ages trying to get the device to connect with the phone. In the end the solution was simple, Wi-Fi Off, Bluetooth on, Search for blue tooth devices in the android settings (never had to do this before) this is akin to when you want to join a new Wi-Fi connection in a hotel for example. With the device in the OBD port wait for the phone to discover the ODB dongle and then let the magic begin!

Received this product yesterday (within the delivery period specified). Plugged it in to my Ford Focus and paired it with my Samsung Galaxy S5, However it is unable to see the ECU. Unplugged it multiple times and re-connected it to no avail, never connects via the protocols. guess that's what you get for £4.00.

Bought from Victsing, arrived well before the expected date.
Worked first time on both a 2008 Mini and a 2011 Seat Leon.
Using a free Android app on a Nexus 7, found and cleared a fault on the Mini.
The PIN code is shown in the user manual on the supplied mini CD.
Useful tool to have especially at this price.
