Book Description

3 Mar 2011 Maximum Ride (Book 7)

Max Ride and her best friends have always had one another's backs. No matter what. Living on the edge as fugitives, they never had a choice. But now they're up against a mysterious and deadly force that's racing across the globe - and just when they need one another the most, Fang is gone. He's creating his own gang that will replace everyone - including Max.

Max is heartbroken over losing Fang, her soulmate, her closest friend. But with Dylan ready and willing to fight by her side, she can no longer deny that his incredible intensity draws her in.

Max, Dylan, and the rest of their friends must soon join with Fang and his new gang for an explosive showdown in Paris. It's unlike anything you've ever imagined . . . or read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good 27 Mar 2011
By Ms. E. Blankson VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
The book is about what all the Maximum Ride books are about, Max saving the world, and it takes it a slight step closer to the prophesy.

All the characters are growing up and changing and even though it is the second to last book, new non avian characters are introduced who you don't really get to know in any depth as you did the flock, but it keeps it less stale. It is also nice to see that Fang is still in it after the last book, and it even follows his storyline shared along with Maxs' at some points.

Like the previous reviewer has said and as with the majority of JP books, the chapters are short and the writing is fast pace. But still the brilliance of the first 2/3 books has not been repeated in Angel.

It is a kind of in-between books, like it should have been part of the longer book, because all the real action is at the end and the rest of it is just a love triangle/square peppered with tiny fights and obvious problem with obvious answers which the characters mull over. Though I guess that is why I like the first couple of books, as they have all the elements of this one and more.

Saying all of this though, I am not the target demographic, which could explain why I thought the story was a bit thin. But saying that, I read it in a couple of hours, I did enjoy it and though I am glad it is the final one coming up, I am still excited to see how JP finishes it off. The end of this one certainly geared me up for the finale .
