This book is a complete joke 1 May 2011

Let me first say that I've been an Amazon customer since the '90s and have never taken the time to review or return a book. However, this book was so incredibly bad I couldn't let it slide. It is a blatant attempt to capitalize on the fact that very little material available on Dynamics CRM 2011. Because the authors and publisher know they'll sell a certain number of copies just because they're first to market they throw together garbage to make a few bucks.

Half the book is just screenshots. The other half is 1,2,3 instructions with absolutely no context or insight accompanying them. The help that comes with the product is 1000% better than anything you'll get here. Trust me, don't waste your time with this.

Great book for someone needing to know CRM basics 14 Sep 2011
By sevillean - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
So, I purchased all of the CRM books on the market. A lot of them go into too much detail. I didn't need to know how to add JavaScript code onto a form in the product, but I did need a good overview of the basics. For that, this book delivered.

One thing I really like about this book is that the author only presents one major topic on each page. This makes using it as a reference tool (I don't take these things to the beach) a lot easier. For example, I needed to know how to run an advanced find in CRM, and this book shows it in a couple simple pages. With most of the other books I've encountered, you have to wade through a ton of unimportant trivia to figure out how to do basic tasks.

We are using Outlook 2007, and this is the only book on the market that has instructions for both Office 2010 and Office 2007. So, if you're on an older version of Outlook, this is your only game in town. Overall, I'd recommend this.

I bought this book as a reference book for my team and I. It's easier than some of the tutorials online. Worth the money if your more on the business or marketing side of MSCRM
