Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS (Stone).
As of September 2006, the use of safety belts in cars and approved child safety devices is mandatory for all children under 12 years old, or less than 1.35 metres in height, for transport by car in the front or back seat. Every Maxi-Cosi car seat model, defined in the UN safety standard ECE R44.04, is specially designed for each age as your child grows from birth to the age of 12 years.
- It is always the weight, not the age, of a child that dictates the choice of car seat.
- Do not buy or accept a second-hand car seat – you can never be certain of its full history and it may not provide adequate protection in an accident.
The back of the Rodi SPS must rest flat against the car seat.
Why Choose the Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS?
The Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS is secured using the car's three-point seatbelt system. The seat comes with belt hooks for optimal belt routing to ensure correct installation. The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System consists of two parts – a booster seat and a detachable backrest.
The Rodi SPS has side protection, which offers extra protection against side-on collisions.
The Rodi SPS fits snugly and safely in most cars thanks to the back that can be adjusted to different angles.
The soft and comfortable headrest of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS provides excellent side support for the child's head. The headrest is height-adjustable, offering six positions.
Accessories available (sold separately) for the Maxi-Cosi Rodi XP include summer cover and pocket (holder for drinks and bottles).
Installing the Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS
Use the Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS only on a front-facing seat that is fitted with an automatic or static three-point belt that has been approved according to the ECE R16 standard or similar. Do not use a two-point belt. Correct fitting of the car seatbelt is essential for the safety of your child. The car seatbelt must be installed following the red parts of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS.
Follow the seat belt routing guides on the Rodi SPS to secure your child.
The seatbelt is positioned at or 1 cm above the child's shoulder level.
Installation in a car
The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System may be used on the front or rear passenger seat. When using the Rodi SPS on the front passenger seat, the car seat must always be placed in its most upright position.
Deactivate the airbag if using the Maxi-Cosi Rodi SPS on the front passenger seat. If this is not possible, place the passenger seat in the rearmost position.
As your child is secured in the Rodi SPS using the car seatbelt, ensure that the belt is positioned at or 1 cm above the child's shoulder level.
Remove the headrest of the passenger seat being used if it causes an obstruction for proper installation of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System, but do not forget to refit the headrest after use.
Always use the booster seat with the backrest.
Ensure that the car seatbelt under the stomach lies as low as possible, to properly support the pelvis.
Always cover the car seat when exposed to direct sunlight in the car to avoid the cover, metal, and plastic parts from becoming too hot for your child's skin.
