The Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 can be used in combination with the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix and Maxi-Cosi Pebble, suitable for children from birth to approximately 12 months (0 to 13 kg). The EasyBase 2 can be used on a forward-facing vehicle seat fitted with an automatic or static 3-point seat belt.

All Maxi-Cosi car seats are comprehensively tested to ensure that they are perfectly safe. But the type of car seat you buy depends on the age, make and model of your car--some are designed to work with IsoFix anchor points that connect to the car's IsoFix system, others on their own with the car's 3-point seat belt, and some can be used on bases that secure by either method. Additionally, you may need to consider your car seat choice if you own multiple cars, and their individual fitting mechanisms.
The Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 has been approved according to the most recent guidelines of the ECE R 44/04, the European standard for car safety seats.

Safety Instructions
- Frontal Airbags: Do not use the Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 in a place where a frontal airbag is installed as this can be dangerous. This does not apply to side airbags.
Belt Installation: Always install the Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 with a 3-point safety belt and NEVER with a 2-point belt.
Belt Routing: Ensure that the blue belt routing marking is facing forward (towards you) and not the back of the seat. After installing the Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2, always ensure the seat belt is as tight as possible and not twisted.
Car Seat Base Placement: The EasyBase 2 may be used either on the passenger seat or on the back seat, but it should always be fitted correctly so that the infant car seat is rearward facing. Lock the rear seats that fold down.
Support Leg: The use of the support leg, which ensures optimum safety and easy installation, mean that the Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 is not suitable for all types of cars. The Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 is designated as “semi-universal” and therefore suitable for installation in certain types of cars.
In the Car: The Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 must always be secured with the seat belt and support leg, even when not in use. A loose Maxi-Cosi EasyBase 2 could injure other passengers in a sudden stop or crash.

I looked at these when I bought my Cabriofix car seat and initially thought it would be a waste of money but it was the best piece of kit I bought! Once it is fitted in the car - which is easy to do (so long as it is compatible with your car) - it's brilliant!! You just click the car seat on or off, it tells you whether you have put the car seat on properly with the colour changing guides. You don't have to mess about getting wet while you try to pull the seatbelt around baby's car seat and no worries about whether you have secured the seat properly. It definitely made life a lot easier, especially when on the school run and using the cabriofix as a travel system. Definitely recommend this product:-)

This is an excellent piece of kit. I have been using it for just over a year and have transferred it between several different cars several times a week.
I bought it initially as my Volvo V70 didn't have a long enough seat belt to fit the maxi cosi cabriofix properly but this did the trick as it requires a shorter seat belt to attach.
It literally takes a minute or two to fix into place after you have got the hang of it and it ensures that the car seat is always solid and also easy to remove the seat if baby is sleeping to carry them inside.
The only word of caution is that it is reasonably heavy as it solid metal although fine to carry for short distances between cars. On the other side this gives peace of mind as you know the car seat if attached securely.
It has clear colour indicators to show when it is fitted properly so you can't get it wrong. Well worth the money. So far this has been used in a Volvo V70, Volvo S60, Honda Civic and VW Passat with no problems (None of the cars had isofix, all attached via the seat belt). I am sure it would fit a smaller car although the seat in front may need to be put slightly further forward to accommodate the leg at the front.

Not quite what it promised to be.
This claims to fit a honda Jazz but does not, the front leg just won't lock into place due to the honda floor slope.
