Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect (Black Reflection).
As of September 2006, the use of safety belts in cars and approved child safety devices is mandatory for all children under 12 years old, or less than 1.35 metres in height, for transport by car in the front or back seat. Every Maxi-Cosi car seat model, defined in the UN safety standard ECE R44.04, is specially designed for each age as your child grows from birth to the age of 12 years.
- It is always the weight, not the age, of a child that dictates the choice of car seat.
- Do not buy or accept a second-hand car seat – you can never be certain of its full history and it may not provide adequate protection in an accident.
The Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect offers your child a relaxed reclining position.
Why Choose the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect?
The Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect is secured using the car's three-point seatbelt. Follow the belt routing guides on the seat.
Integrated into the headrest of this Maxi-Cosi car seat, AirProtect side impact technology protects your child's head and reduces crash forces through a precise release of air in case of a collision. The Rodi AirProtect has optimal side impact protection for the hip area, too.
The Rodi AirProtect has a lightweight frame for easy transfer between cars.
This Group 2/3 car seat is high on comfort, offering your child a relaxed reclining position. The Rodi AirProtect's recline position is adjustable to suit younger or older children. Never adjust the recline position of the Rodi AirProtect whilst your child is in it.
The Rodi AirProtect can be adjusted both height- and width-wise (side wings are adjustable) to give a perfect fit for every child.
Headrest and back support
This child car seat comes with an easy-to-adjust headrest and lumbar support for extra comfort and safety.
Accessories available (sold separately) for the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect include summer cover, pocket (holder for drinks and bottles), and footrest.
Installing the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect
Use the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect only on a front-facing seat that is fitted with an automatic or static three-point belt that has been approved according to the ECE R16 standard or similar. Do not use a two-point belt. Correct fitting of the car seatbelt is essential for the safety of your child. The car seatbelt must be installed following the red parts of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect.
Turn the car's headrest the other way round or remove it if the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect does not fit.
Do not recline the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect when your child is in the seat.
Add comfort to your child's ride with the Rodi AirProtect footrest (sold separately).
The seatbelt is positioned at or 1 cm above the child's shoulder level.
Installation in a car
The Maxi-Cosi Tobi is intended for car use only. The Axiss must always be placed in a forward-facing position in the car. Lock fold-down rear seats before installing the Axiss.
Deactivate the airbag if using the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect on the front passenger seat. If this is not possible, place the passenger seat in the rearmost position.
As your child is secured in the Rodi AirProtect using the car seatbelt, ensure that the belt is positioned at or 1 cm above the child's shoulder level.
Check to make sure the headrest of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect is adjusted to the proper height. Use the anchor attached to the Rodi AirProtect headrest for better stability.
Always install both components of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi AirProtect – seat and back support. Make sure that fold-down rear seats are locked into position and that the backrest of the car seat is in the upright position.
Ensure that the car seatbelt under the stomach lies as low as possible, to properly support the pelvis.
Always cover the car seat when exposed to direct sunlight in the car to avoid the cover, metal, and plastic parts from becoming too hot for your child's skin.
