I am faced with the daunting task of learning both french and creole. While there's a wealth of free resources online for French, there isn't much in the way of Mauritian Creole. Therefore this book is a gem for me. It's an excellent reference source - it contains phrases, a dictionary, essays, slang, cultural tips and more. Highly recommended.

This book is extremely easy to navigate and very good value for money. Some funny bits for those who already speak the lingo and basics for those new to Morisyen.

Very pleased with the purchase which arrived prompt and in immaculate condition.

The book appears to be very comprehensive but I found that you do need a splattering of french language to be able to understand how it should sound.

I just want to say thank you to the author of this book for helping me to understand a bit of Mauritian Creole. I have not been able to find a book about the language before and it really helps me to understand my new family and their Mauritian ways also. I am sure that it will be useful for anyone who wants to know more about Mauritius too. Accurate description of food etc. Great!

I'm half Mauritian, but I live in England, so my understanding of Mauritian Creole is pretty limited.
This book was great to help remind me of phrases that are commonly heard, and also demystify some of the phrases I knew but didn't understand. I haven't found another Mauritian Creole book before, so this was a great addition to my travel kit.

I am married to a Mauritian and we have one son. I speak a bit of French and I can sometimes follow the gist of a conversation. We are off to visit the family soon and I am sure this book will be very useful. My husband was impressed when I showed him. Well worth it and hope to impress my Mother in Law by speaking chiggit creole..

A great reference book to learn the basics of Creole by yourself but it does help to have some knowledge of French. I took the book with me to Mauritius when I went and the locals were rather surprised by some of the expressions listed (hence the 4 stars).
