As with all of these Wizard guides to the Hawaiian islands, they are informative and include good maps which take the place of the fact I couldn't buy island road maps.Sections on restaurants, accommodation, activities and things to see and do, they are also written with insider knowledge. A couple of times we found the information out of date or misleading, such as how to get down to Dragon's teeth, or where to stop on the Hana highway, as places have been blocked off or stopping points don't exist. ONO recommendations and real gems help to narrow down the best if time is limited. There are no better, up to date guides on the islands.

If you're planning on going to Hawaii, these guides are an absolute must-have. Very detailed information, tips and tricks from locals to make your Hawaii experience even better. Very well researched, up-to-date information and it was clear that the authors really want you to have the time of your life.
The "Revealed" series turned out to be our tourguide in 2009. Whenever we had some spare time, we would check out the tips in this book for those 'hidden gems' that you don't find in i.e. the Lonely Planet guide we also brought along.
Don't let the hideous cover-art fool you. It may not look as flashy as the National Geographic / DK / Lonely Planet guides, the "Hawaii Revealed" series proofed to be of greater value on the island than all of the other books combined.

Returned from a wonderful fortnight in Maui last month, and just had to pass on how helpful, insightful and invaluable this book was.
I stumbled on it whilst searching on the American Amazon site, and took a step into the unknown (although the reviews there were very impressive).
I also bought the Lonely Planet guide with me, but there is a huge gulf between the two books. The author for Maui Revealed really knows the Island inside out, and passes on so many pointers that could only come from someone lucky enough to have lived there for so long.
Great decision to put the accommodation reviews on a separate website, as there are way too many to fit in a book and selection would be very difficult. This also allows the guide to concentrate on the more important aspects of exploring the island, snorkelling, and going off the beaten track.
Hope to use the book again someday soon!
