Like the reviews from Amazon.com point out, it's a very poor toy. It's very flimsy and some bright spark figured it would be a good idea to place three plastic holding plugs into the back of Barbie's head (which you need to yank out with pliers). This was purchased for my niece who loves Barbie. The toy falls apart very easily unfortunately but it does make a nice model to place (carefully) onto a child's cupboard or shelves.
Alternatively you can bin the bike and just play with the doll but somehow I don't think that's the point. Better to save your cash I think!

This is a HORRIBLE toy!!!!! DO NOT buy unless you want to frustrate your child! The bike fell apart as soon as we CAREFULLY got it out of the package (after 15 mintutes of clipping all the elasatic and unwinding all the wires used to hold the bike and doll in place.
The bike does not stand, the handlebars and wheels do not stay attached, the doll will not even sit on the bike unless carefully propped and held so good luck trying to get it to move!
Our 6 year old bought the bike with her birthday money and was so excited when she saw the pretty doll and cute bike in the package but once we (eventually) got it out for her, she was in tears. When we managed to (temporarily) put the bike back together (handlebars back on, wheel back on), she STILL couldn't use it because Barbie will not stay on the bike, EVEN when holding her!
MATTEL should be ASHAMED of itself making a toy that brings disappointment and sadness to a child instead of joy. It needs to be pulled from the shelves before more children are disappointed. I feel sorry for the children whose parents aren't able to return this piece of junk.

We were so excited that these were on sale that we bought 3, one for our 6 year old daughter, and 2 for her friends as birthday presents. Now I feel bad we gave them to her friends. It looks so nice, and she loves the look of the Barbie, but I agree with the other reviews that once you get it out of the package (which is in itself a challenge) the product disappoints. The others forgot to mention that her head is plastic tagged to the box in three spots, and there is no way to get the plastic out of her head (we cut it as close to her head as we could without cutting her hair, and because the pieces were still pokey, we shoved them inside her head). As the others said, the bike pedal fell off, the front wheel falls off continuously, and the handle bars and basked too. Eventually after jamming the front wheel into the handle bars hard (out of frustration) they clicked together, and have now stayed put for over an hour. The box advertises that her legs move with the wheel, which if you hold it up and turn very carefully, they do, but it is too hard to move the wheel by just pushing down and trying to make her ride. We got Barbie to stay on, but her arms don't reach the handle bars very well. My daughter loves the Barbie, so we will keep it, but the bike riding will not happen as advertised. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because it looks really neat.

My daughter got two of these for her 6th birthday -- one version was slightly different from the other. Both, though, are utter pieces of crap. The pieces are now scattered around our home, and she has no interest in putting them back together -- and this is a kid who's usually pretty careful with her toys and into pretend play. Barbie sits oddly and cannot easily hold the handlebars. The bike falls over and falls apart very easily, as others have said. Many, many pieces fall off at the slightest touch, or no touch at all. The riding action is not easy to maintain, and when she's not riding, this Barbie is no fun at all. To get the pedaling action, they made it so she can't stand up. The bike doesn't stand up, either. So you're left with a broken bike and a floppy-jointed Barbie. Also, I guess there's a version that comes with a little dog figure that bounces in the basket. Both of ours, though, came with a cardboard cutout of a dog, not the plastic figure. Seriously?? Both bike and doll look great -- that's all I can say for this toy, though. Back to the drawing board, Mattel!
