This toy would not be my first choice but it was what my daughter wanted and she loves it. Quality is good enough.

I'm a Barbie collector and I am not that fond of "normal" dolls (read toys) of today. I'm not a big fan of the way they look or that you can move their hands and legs and so on. But this one, made me think different! Her face is beautiful and her face looks more like the dolls used to do. Her party outfit is super, with that pink marvellous dress. In my eyes she is a real knock-out! However as a toy, I'm not sure about how durable she really is. I'm thinking about her hands and legs that can be twisted in various positions. Her hair is not thick at all and is far away made for combing and brushing (only gently, otherwise she will lose those curls) and her shoes are much too soft (collector dolls luckily don't wear that kind of shoes) But girls will probably love her oh, so cute dress and play with her lovely golden curls. It's impossible not to smile when you see a doll like that.

Bendy wrists, bendy knees: a posable Barbie at an affordable price!

Finally: Mattel has created a playline Barbie which is actually posable! She's got bendable wrists, knees, elbows, of course at the hip and neck, and I think another joint at the torso. While the joints aren't real pretty to look at, this doll is exceptionally fun for my six year-old daughter to play with. She can sit on chairs, ride a scooter (yes, even in her fancy dress), make all sorts of fancy modeling poses--just like a more expensive collector doll. Plus she has a very pretty face, and her hair is just gorgeous.
Her dress is cute, too--and seems to be well-made. The little white "fur" cuffs are a nice touch, and can be moved up or down the doll's arms to create different looks. Her jewelry adds extra glitz--my daughter really likes it--and her shoes are adorable, too. She also includes a clutch purse, which is a fun little accessory. Of course, we've already lost it.
I need to add a note on the packaging: A+! We were able to get the doll out of her packaging without damaging her hair one a little bit. Her curls look just as pretty in real life as they do in the promo photos. Bravo, Mattel!
We've only had the doll a week, so I can't tell how durable the doll will be. The joints are all feel pretty sturdy, but they bend easily enough for my daughter to pose herself. I think we'd definitely love to add others to our collection.
