Product Description

Product Description

Rover is a memory-matching game combined with runaround play. It features an adorable electronic talking dog and 12 bones with color and number, shape, or letter. The object of the game is to collect the most bones. The game is set up by placing the 12 bones randomly around a space. The game starts when pre-schoolers press the Red Rover nose and he calls out which bones he wants. pre-schoolers run to find the right bone and feed it to Rover--if they're right, they keep the bone--if they're wrong, Red Rover encourages them to go back and find the right one. Whoever helps Rover the fastest wins. Red Rover is suitable for 2 to 4 players aged 3 and up. It requires 3 x AA batteries (not included).

My kids played with this about 6 times till it got put away for good, thankfully I got it on offer! it is a basic game where you've to find the correct colour and put it into the dogs mouth, suppose it is good for encouraging kids to learn colours but like I said my kids got bored with it.

Toy in general is very good, my son loved finding and collecting the coloured bones for Red Rover to eat. unfortunately our game fails to work anymore, only action it seems to do now is say something along the lines of Im dog tired, have tried changing the batteries but it doesn't work! Not sure how much I would recommend it for longevity or durability, obviously somewhere it is failing

the game is fine, if your child likes dogs. there are to settings - one for colours, the other one for shapes, letters (A B C D). a child has to be very precise where and how he puts the bone into the dog's mouth, sometimes we had the right bone but the dog said it was the wrong one?! took it out and put it back in, the bone was correct.
however, if you lose one bone the game becomes useless - the dog keeps asking for a certain colour/shape/letter but if you don't have it you can't skip it! so the dog goes for on and on, we tried to switch on and off in hope it will forget but no way, it gives up eventually but by that time the kids are very frustrated.

This toy looked cute and works fine but my totally dog crazy 2 year old has only really played with it twice. It just feels a little expensive for what it is.

I purchased this toy for my 3 year old son out of his birthday money as I had seen it advertised and wanted it to assist in developing his number recognition techniques, however on delivery I was slightly dissapointed to find it consisted of 12 bones - 4 shapes, A-D in letters and 1-4 in numbers with the emphasis being on colours (the background colour on the bones). It only has two games - colours or all the bones, I would have liked this to have had colour, number and shapes games options, with more shapes and number bones.

He still enjoys it very much, however on entering some of the correct pieces it tells you you are incorrect - which can be confusing for a small child. We were lucky enough to purchase this at a discounted price of £15, however after experiencing the let downs Im not sure I would be happy to pay full price for it.

Its an innovative idea, good sturdy product, great fun for a few players, but the educational aspect is a little bit of a let down
