Really thinking two and a half stars. but you can't do a half. Anyway ...
My daughter (7) got a Pixel Chix pink house for Easter, and decided to spend some money the other evening and get the car too. We figured the idea is you hook the car up to the house, and then you can take your Pixel Chix for a ride and give her some more things to do. Well ... that does happen ... sort of. First of all there's already a girl in the car, and you can just play with it by yourself. Okay, fine. But the "instructions" that come with it also say you can hook it up to the house and make YOUR Pixel Chix leave the house and get in (which is why we got it). Well no matter how we followed the directions, it didn't happen. My husband had to do a search online and find some specific instructions from Mattel posted on their website FAQ (obviously we're not the only ones who had this problem). So we finally did get it to work. But another thing (and the website tells you this) ... the Pixel Chix that already comes with the car looks very different, and even is blond, not brunette like our house Pixel Chix. Well when our Pixel Chix leaves the house ... the new blond one is who gets in the car. So it's obvious it's not the same one, which takes half the fun away.
Now you can disconnect the car (in fact they recommend you do that, otherwise if you bump the house you'll have both Pixel Chixs going at the same time) and have her do all sorts of things. But I have found no way (and nothing online) to then "drive home", hook the car back up and have her go back in the house. So again, that was a bit of a disappointment.
I really don't see the point in getting this to hook up to the house and have your Pixel Chix "go out" with it. It seems better to just treat it as its own thing and play with it by itself. And I don't know that it's worth the $17 to do that.
