I too have experienced the same problems with this toy. Despite the product confirming that the password has been accepted it then won't open and the overrides don't work either. I have taken it straight back to the shop and won't be replacing it. Only wish I'd have known this before it was bought as a Chrsitmas present for a disappointed 7 year old.

Fussy and tempermental to use. Poorly made. Despite following instructions, won't open and neither of the two overrides works. Have a very disappointed six-year-old. Still awaiting response from seller (different to one shown on this page, now).

Very disappointed as my daughter couldn't wait to record a password and keep the journal safe from her little brother but then the system locked. Despite repeatedly recording new passwords (and the journal saying they have been accepted) we cannot gain entry when passwords are pronounced again. Seems to be no overide to unlock in such a situation. My daughter is now in tears, all very frustrating.
