Amazon Verified Purchase
When you spend your hard earned money on an expensive lens, you will want to protect them the best way you can. Before I purchased this pouch I used a plastic bag and bubble wrap. It was OK but plastic is not very durable. This Neoprene rubber pouch offers protection from scratches, dust and moisture. Don't expect that if you drop it on the floor the lens will be in tact because it is not designed for this sort of treatment. I do have a camera bag and I always carry my spare lens in a pouch for added protection.
Before you order any size pouch, check the pouch internal size to your lens dimensions.

I have used a neoprene action cover for my DSLR ever since reading about them in an excellent 'primer' on building a DSLR system.

As I often use a variety of rucksacs etc, rather than a bespoke camera bag, when out in the hills, I needed something similar to protect my additional lenses. This neoprene 'tube' with a drawstring closure and clip-on hook system (belt attachment) is available in several sizes. In my case I purchased three of them (different sizes) for Ultra Wide Angle, Telephoto and a specialized small prime lens that I usually carry.
They seem to work fine based on 2 months experience. You really can pack and forget...
Different brands are supplied by Amazon from time to time but I believe they all serve the same purpose pretty well. Generally well worth the outlay.

I bought this for my Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 and it fits well. I use it for extra protection in the camera bag but I think it will be OK for putting into a daysack when I don't take the bag.
