Amazon Verified Purchase
When you spend your hard earned money on an expensive lens, you will want to protect them the best way you can. Before I purchased this pouch I used a plastic bag and bubble wrap. It was OK but plastic is not very durable. This Neoprene rubber pouch offers protection from scratches, dust and moisture. Don't expect that if you drop it on the floor the lens will be in tact because it is not designed for this sort of treatment. I do have a camera bag and I always carry my spare lens in a pouch for added protection.
Before you order any size pouch, check the pouch internal size to your lens dimensions.

I was after a Nikon CL-0715 Lens Soft Case (Af Dx 10.5/2.8G) for an AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens (phew!) and looked around to find one. Well, they are available but I whinced at the price and thought there must be a cheaper alternative. What I ended up buying was this lens case - the Matin Neoprene Lens Pouch 50 Small. Did I say "Cheaper"? Some people don't like this word, so I will say "Better Value" instead. Having used the case for the past couple of months I can say I am delighted with it.
I have a bunch of Nikkor lenses with Nikkon cases (supplied with the lenses) and they are nice, but this item is even nicer. The lens is more cushioned, and the closing at the top feels more secure. This case also has a sturdy clip, seperate from the closing mechinasim, to clip on to a belt or, in my case, to the side of my small camera rucksack - ideal as it means I dont have to rummage in the bag to find the lens.
The case *is* small - lenses requiring Nikon's CL-0913/CL-9015 case will not fit comfortably in this case so have a look at other Matin alternatives.

You can pay a fortune for lenses cases and a quick look on the internet will show you just how much. I wanted reasonable protection for my lens which was I also carried in a shoulder bag. I didn't want anything too firm or large. These pouches are just ideal for that purpose. They offer good protection against scratches, dust and other objects - they are not designed for total protection although would probably minimise any damage if the lens is dropped. Ideal for light weight cases and a reasonable standard of protection - incredible value for money and so much so that I use them on a number of lenses.

Good Buy
Soft cushioned pouch which has a belt loop or clip to attach to bag etc. Small but does take a 50mm lens perfectly. Smells a bit as previously mentioned but that will diminish. Read more
