Concise and clear, layout very similar to that shown by the teacher. Easy for kids to follow, not daunting at all for first time SATS and it lets parents know what to concentrate on.

I had bought before the "Letts Key Stage 1 Success - Reading, Writing and Maths: Practice Test Papers (Letts Key Stage 1 Practice Test Papers)" and i got this book for extra practice.
Very disappointing when a look in the book and find out that it is the same exercises ,with the same numbers of other book.
So if you have the "Letts Key Stage 1 Success - Reading, Writing and Maths: Practice Test Papers " do not loose you money, like I did !

Very good and it was a good way to assess my 6 (nearly 7) year old daughter, using the old assessment criteria, which I still prefer, as I have a basis for comparison.
I got her to do exercises A and B, identified the areas she needed support with, worked on those, erased her answers and got her to redo them a couple of weeks later. She got almost full marks second time round. "Elapsed time", when not in half or full hours, I think would be a challenge for most 6/7 year olds but now I know where to focus. We'll do exercise C next.

These test practice papers were really useful in preparing my son for his SATS at the end of Year 2 and for me as a parent in guiding my structuring of his revision to tie in with the format of the real tests which he had to do in school. Otherwise I would have been clueless.

It's impossible to score a goal when you don't know the rules of the game or even what the goalposts look like, never mind where they are on the playing field. And so these practice papers were an enormous help both in focusing my son's revision efforts and familiarising him with the format of the tests and the type of questions that would confront him as well as the type of answers that would be expected off him.
