4.0 out of 5 stars A great book for anyone having difficulty with maths, 2 Mar 2004
By A Customer
Completely aside from the dyslexic angle, this book was fascinating to me as a longterm mathematical dunce and actually got me wishing I could go back to school to learn it properly this time and be successful at it - the explanations are that good! I have been able to use some of the techniques suggested to help support my 8 yr old son with basic addition, subtraction and multiplication concepts, something I had no idea how to do before reading this book. There are plenty of helpful charts and ideas which break down mathematical concepts in such a way that the dyslexic can find the pattern within. I am sure that this book will be very helpful in the years to come as the maths gets more complicated, my one regret is that there isn't enough material for primary aged children on basic addition and subtraction difficulties. My other non-dyslexic, very mathematical son has also benefited from some of the material.

5.0 out of 5 stars A simple approach to the complex subject of maths, 23 Jan 2002
This book approaches, in a logical order, mathematical concepts for all students of mathematics. Illustrations are straightforward and allows the reader to understand fully techniques of mathematics which follow the same targets in the National Curriculum. The book contains strategies for calculations that simplify what was once unimagineable for the dyslexic student.
