Product Description

Product Description

Mathematics for AQA GCSE - Main texts.

The Main Texts provide thorough preparation for students on either a 1-year or 2-year course with clear, student-friendly language used throughout.

Each chapter consists of:

  • Fully worked examples with explanatory notes and commentary
  • Carefully graded exercises
  • What you need to know - a summary of key facts and skills
  • A review exercise consisting of exam-style questions which reflect how AQA assess the work, plus lots of pass exam questions.

Section reviews give further opportunities to consolidate skills acquired over a number of chapters.

Exam practice sections contain compilations of exam and exam-style questions organised for non-calculator paper and calculator paper practice, in preparation for the exams.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was wary but maths is no longer scary!, 8 Jul 2003
By M. J. Stott "mel79stars" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book seemed absolutely crammed with math, which of course is why it has been termed 'maths text book'!, but what I mean is it did daunt me a little as I opened it due to the compression of information on each & every page. This made me think I'd never get through anything, and with the added disadvantage of no 'hands-on' teaching support due to distance learning, to say the least I was a little scared!. But one day I decided to start studying the book from page one (you know how teachers love to start in various sections!) and miraculously I was through the first 19 pages within 2.5 hrs!. My underlying point being that this book is necessarily 'crammed', and the vast information/questions per page is vital for swift and scrupulous learning of a very daunting subject, known to you and me as MATHS!

4.0 out of 5 stars good book!, 6 Jan 2006
By corinne (bournemouth, uk) - See all my reviews
the only reason i didin't give it 5stars is because it's a maths book, and i don't like maths!
on the good side though the book explains everything to you in easy to understand ways that make you feel like oding that bit more. i can easily work through sections and not realise that a few hours have passed.
i reccommend it to all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, highly recommended!, 5 Oct 2008
I recommend this book to everyone who wants to pass GCSE Maths. I'm 21 and this year I started doing my evening maths classes, and our tutor recommended this book to us, we also use it during lessons. Everything is explained very clearly, from the very basics, with examples. It's worth every pound. I liked it to the point I've just ordered another one but for Higher Tier, and both student's support books. I think this series is excellent!
