Book Description

The adventure storybook just gained an added dimension with this new series- the reader can actually enter the world of the story by playing on the CD-ROM! The story in the book begins with Ozzy, the mathemagician9s apprentice, being set a task which involves exercising his mathematical skills. Of course, like all good apprentices, he winds up in trouble. And this is where the adventure begins for the reader. Venturing into Max9s world on the CD-ROM, the child has to set Ozzy free. The book provides all the hints and tips that Max can provide, and he is there to help at every step on the CD-ROM. This series makes learning and understanding mathematics a delight.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Mathematician's Apprentice, 6 Sep 2009

The Mathematician's Apprentice is a colourful story book of about 20 pages which get children interested in the characters. The CD takes over and provides an interactive story that involves solving maths problems to get through difficult obstacles in a mythical forest. Children are hopefully better at trying out the possible links that allow the story to progress. As an adult it was not obvious to me what to do until I just tried clicking everything to see what happens. It is good value - the book alone is worth the price that I paid.

5.0 out of 5 stars It even kept a 20 year old occupied for 2 hours, 8 Nov 2000
This review is from: The Mathemagician's Apprentice (Maths adventures) (Hardcover)
As a member of staff that works in the sales office for T.A.G, the publisher of this title, I had to take the CD home and see what everyone was talking about. The CD was brilliant, the idea was not just to complete the multiplication sums, but to also pick up objects and keys on the way around, so at the end, you can save 'Ozzy', a small boy the the evil Grimlock had captured and locked away.

I loaded this CD up at 6pm when I got home from work, and I was still mesmorised at 8pm when Eastenders was starting.

You have to give it a go!!!!!!!!!
