There was stunned silence. I don't think they expected that, but I'd been thinking about having it done for a while. Part of a whole new image. I wanted to leave the old Izzie behind.

Izzie is restless, and eager to be treated like an adult. So she decides it's time to make some changes. But the new Izzie comes with new problems. I hadn't read any of Cathy Hopkins books before I bought Mates, Dates and Mad Mistakes but now she is one of my FAVOURITE authors.This book is about four best friends(Izzie, Nesta,T.J and Lucy)who feel that as they are going into Year 10 next week they should do something to make boys look at them and go WOW!Izzie suggests that they should get their Belly Buttons pierced .The rest of them agree . This book will keep you entertained both physically,mentally and emotionally for hours upon end.This book was one of the best books I HAVE EVER READ!

When Izzy decides to change her lifstyle completely is it a good idea? Not from her mum's eyes its not!
Izzy first of all mentions to Lucy, Nesta and T.J. that they should all go and get their belly buttons pierced. Only Lucy and Izzy go through with it though. Then she meets a cute but wild boy who introduces her to drinking, smoking (although she tries it she doesn't stick it) and sneaking out of the house at 12 at night! Izzy does this realising that she is hurting her friends along the way and that nothing is worth messing up a friendship.
I've read lots of Cathy Hopkins books but this one was one of my top 5!! This books really good and if anyone loves humour, lurve and girlie stuff too, then this is the book for you!!

This is definitely one of Cathy Hopkins best books yet. This is the 6th book in the Mates, Dates and ... series and as I have read them all, I can definitely say this one is especially one not to miss out on. In this book we return to the wacky world of Izzy, but Izzy isn't happy as being thought of as the wacky, astrological one she wants a new image and will do anything to get it, needless to say she's trying to impress a certain boy! This causes more trouble for herself and her friends,and throws up many more unsuspecting suprises! So my advice is don't delay and buy today!

Everyone was reading this book saying it was great so I had to try it out for myself and I found out Cathy Hopkins is a excellent author.
This book is brilliant for girls that are about to become teenagers trying to grow out of their parents but unfortunately that never happens.
However much Izzie tries to grow up she just became more of a child.
She learns lots of important lessons in the process and if I were you I wouldn't want to go through what Izzie did!

I have loved reading this series! The Mates and Dates series are very good books for teenage girls. The books relate to problems most teenage girls face and it helps you by showing what the characters would do.

I found that a couple of the chapters dragged on a bit and were too predictable but this book was a good, quick, pleasurable book to read and I will definitely be finishing the whole series.

This is book about a girl called izzie. Like many teenagers she wants to be treated more like an adult so makes some changes and becomes a 'new' izzie. The changes include having her belly peirced and going out with a wild older boy. As always it ends in tears. A light read. Enjoyable for ages 11-15. Well worth reading.

I do admit that cathy is a great author but this book isnt good.Its about teenage izzie who fancies a boy,falls in love with him then breaks up then it ends happily.its a fairly good book if you want a light read to skim but otherwise this is a very girlie book not worth the money.
