Product Description

Not all teas were created equal. Matcha is an incredibly versatile tea that is made from shade grown tea leaves. The leaves are then steamed, deveined and stone ground into a fine powder. The result is one of the world's most revered teas. Matcha has been highly prized in the East for centuries. It has found popularity among those seeking to lose weight, supplement their diet, try tea in a new way or simply discover the rich heritage of this super tea.

A drinking grade that is ideal for mixing with juice.

This is the first Matcha powder I ever bought, with the intention of using it for cooking. I bought this because it was the most decently priced one I could find online. Matcha Factory provides other grades of Matcha but I bought this one under the recommendation of Stephen P, the gentleman who represents this brand online.

It's a bit strange why this is called Drinking Matcha if it's lower-grade and therefore better for use in cooking. You can still use it for drinking if you want, but the colour comes out a very murky brown-green and doesn't look appealing. It tastes fine though a tad bitter. I don't use this for drinking, but rather for making matcha-flavoured chocolate. It's not the brightest green chocolate but considering how wonderful it tastes I don't really care - it's going in my stomach one way or another!

If you care for the aesthetics then I don't recommend this particular grade since it doesn't give off the classic bright green colour, but otherwise it still tastes great and does the job, especially for cooking applications. If it's your first time and you'd feel too guilty wasting precious premium-grade matcha in experiments then this is probably a nice way to get some practice. If you are lucky you might find better grade matcha for similar prices per grams although Amazon doesn't seem to sell those and you'd usually have you buy them at a bigger bulk. Very friendly customer service however, I'm willing to try other products from Matcha Factory!

So far the worst quality of Matcha that I have tasted, rather like dust of various things from the floor!

This basic matcha is good value for money matcha. I don't want to pay upwards of £25 for my anti-oxidant boost, I want to pay a more reasonable price and Matcha Factory provides that. They also have more expensive, presumably much higher quality, versions of matcha, but if you're looking for a reasonably cheap way to make your morning OJ healthier, then this is it.

Shipping was fast and I love that it's packaged in a resealable envelope to keep it fresh instead of a fancy tin and bag I am probably paying £10 extra for!

This Matcha tea is very very low quality - this is very easy to spot by it's awful colour which is a muddy green with yellowish hue. Signs that it is old and mixed with stalks/stems. All Matcha should be bright bright green as found with brands such as Vitalife (£9 for 30g).

The price though is pretty low (£9 for 50g) for Matcha so all in all you get what you pay for.

I won't be buying it again though as I do want my Matcha to be high grade - I'll just have to pay a bit more.

I ordered this earlier in the month, but never got the order, it either got lost in the post or some naughty person is drinking my tea... I contacted the seller and he sent out another right away and i received it within a few days. Great seller very understanding and i got an upgrade. So the 5 stars go to him.
The tea itself you have to get used to the taste, but the result is brilliant. I look after an elderly relative, by 4pm i am yawning and very tired from constant care. I am lucky if i get 4hrs sleep a night. But the tea is amazing kept me going all day and by the time i went to bed i didn't feel like a zombie. Best result is to get a 'milk frothier' whisk for the tea as it leaves a residue in the bottom on the mug,cup if you only use a spoon to stir it. You only need a tiny bit i use half a tea spoon for a mug of tea. An it leaves me feeling good all day. A one cup wonder you might say.

I've been drinking Matcha tea for a number of years now and have tried numerous brands.
I was tempted to try this one because of the price, however I should have saved my money.
The tea is extremely bitter compared to other matcha teas and is not as green - it it quite brown by comparison. I tried it twice and then threw the packet away.
I recommend anyone trying Matcha for the first time to get 'ceremonial' grade or better.
