A Wicked comedy... don't miss... (CLOSER )

No one tops Susan Elizabeth Philips- she makes you laugh, she makes you cry- makes you feel good. (Jayne Ann Krentz )

Product Description

Annabelle is tired of being the lone failure in a family of overachievers. She's endured dead-end jobs and a broken engagement. Even her hair's a mess! But that's going to change now she's taken over her late grandmother's matchmaking business. All Annabelle has to do is to land Chicago's hottest batchelor as her client... Heath Champion is wealthy, driven, gorgeous, so why does her need a matchmaker, especially a walking disaster like Annabelle Granger? True, she's entertaining, and she does have a certain quirky appeal. But Heath is searching for the ultimate symbol of success- the perfect wife. When the matchmaker promises she'll do anything to keep her star client happy... does she mean anything? If Annabelle isn't careful, she just might find herself going heart-to-heart with the toughest negotiator in town- a man who's beginning to ask himself: exactly how perfect does perfect have to be?

I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips! Her writing always reminds me of those classic screwball comedies starring Spencer Tracy and Katerine Hepburn but with an utterly modern twist.
MATCH ME IF YOU CAN is a delightful romp - full of romance and humour. It's utterly escapist and full of witty dialogue. Someone should make a movie of it, they really should.

Terrific fun!

I absolutely agree with the reviewer-this has "screwball comedy" written all over it.You can hear Cary Grant & Kat Hepburn- if you yearn for dialogue ricocheting like bullets from a gun, then this is the book for you.It also has characters from some of her other books -& I hadn't read them before, but I have now bought them all. When I finished the book- I felt a sense of loss I usually only feel after finishing a Linda Howard book- SEP 's writing is not like Ms Howard's-she's much more light-hearted- but the darker bits are just as heart-wrenching . Buy this book !!-you'll laugh like a lunatic-people will think you are certifiable- but it's worth it- then read all the prequels-you won't regret it .

Book crazy 13 April 2007
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I have read a couple of Susan Elizabeth Phillps books now and i gottan adimt that they rocked my world these books was "Dream a little Dream" and "Kiss an Angel" and i loved them. When i first read the back of "Match me if you can" i thought it was going to be all kinds of wonderful, I am not saying that this is not a good book it really is but it is not one of her best. I recommend this book and the other books and i will be reading more of her books because they do rock.
