I'VE HAD ONE OF THESE FOR A WHILE AND AM JUST BUYING A SECOND TO TAKE ON HOLIDAY WITH ME - I WAS REALLY SURPRISED BY THE OTHER REVIEWS - I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT - YOU STICK THE GARLIC IN THE SIDE, TURN THE DIAL AND THEN POP OUT THE INSIDE WHICH HAS A PADDLE WITH PERFECTLY CRUSHED GARLIC ON IT - THEN YOU JUST SLIDE IT APART, RINSE UNDER THE TAP AND ITS READY FOR NEXT TIME. IT IS BY FAR AND AWAY THE BEST, EASIEST TO USE AND EASIEST TO CLEAN GARLIC CRUSHER I'VE EVER HAD AND I AM A QUALIFIED CORDON BLEU CHEF!

I bought one of these from Lakeland Plastics 4 or 5 years ago and think it is brilliant. If it's finely crushed garlic/paste your after then this is the boy. You insert a clove and rotate the top which grates the clove & catches it on a plastic insert. This just pops out of the middle ready to scrape off & use, easy peasy. It means your fingers don't come into contact with the crushed clove so no garlic smelling fingers. I love this gadget and am amazed that other reviewers don't rate it. I have used it with both the skin on the clove and removed with equally good results. It does leave a thin slither of the clove attached to the grating drum which if flicked out chops up in seconds as it's so thin, hardly what you would call waisting time or garlic! I personally wouldn't use any other gadget for my garlic.

i bought this garlic peeler/grater for myself and was so impressed i bought another two for my daughters they are clean easy and fast to use i use to use garlic paste for speed till i discovered this and you just cant compare paste with real garlic i would recommend these to any garlic lover

Brilliant device
I only wish I'd invented it. Peels and crushes the garlic in one fell swoop. No strength required. Great price too. I'm buying everyone I know one as a treat.

rubbish
Useless item, it traps the skin and most of the garlic inside and you have to poke it out with a knife. Does not get clean in a dishwasher either. Read more

Whats the point?
Very hard to clean & not easy to use. It's alkward to turn and fiddly to get the grated garlic out, plus it mixes the skin in with the garlic. One use and I'd never try it again. Read more

rubbish!
This item is a total waste of money. It's very difficult to use and it doesn't do the job. I ended up with a load of mush mixed up with the skin. don't bother!
