5.0 out of 5 stars A good book - worth getting if you are a DM or a player, 11 Oct 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Masters of the Wild: A Guidebook to Barbarians, Druids and Rangers (Dungeons & Dragons) (Paperback)
I have been playing DnD for nearly a year now, and I strongly reccomend it to anyone who has tried it and wants to stay in the hobby for the long term. This book has everything, from Prestige Classes, feats, new animals (dire elephants!!!) and even help and advice on handling your animal companions. Oh yes, and spells of course too..
I do not play as either a Barbarian, Ranger or a Druid, but I do play as a DM. DMs will find this book to be a cache of knowledge, to boost all those NPCs and also, to help customise your PCs who may be new to the game
Basically, just buy the book - it's worth it, I asure you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Masters of the Wild, 19 Oct 2003
This review is from: Masters of the Wild: A Guidebook to Barbarians, Druids and Rangers (Dungeons & Dragons) (Paperback)
This book was very helpful to me, as I like rangers, druids and barbarians more than the other characters. Most of the prestige classes were interesting and well thought out, and the new animals, particularly legendary animals, will almost certainly be put in my game.

The advice given for playing the different characters is very helpful, and the "outlooks on life" I will make full use of.

This is a must have for any hard-core D&D nut, and useful reference material for any DM or player, even if you're not one of the characters the book was meant for. Very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a very good read to an serios D&D player., 17 Feb 2002
This review is from: Masters of the Wild: A Guidebook to Barbarians, Druids and Rangers (Dungeons & Dragons) (Paperback)
The best way to be a good player of any type in D&D is to read all the possible information on the type of player you are playing as it is important to read all the information to play the game to its highest hights.
This book has the very best and up to date info on in my view some of the best types of charecture in the game the barbarian is my personal favorite as i love hack and slash and the druid is one of the best magical players i the game.
This book has all the information on these players from there abilitys, strenghts, weaknesses and basic what they do and where they come from info. Making it a perfect read for new and old players of the game, because newbies need all the info they can get to help them fully apreciate the depth and involvment of D&D and despite public opinion you can teach a old dog new tricks so its good for the older players too.
In conclusion this book is amazing and should be bought if you want to play one of the charectures described in it or not because even if u hate these charectures you can at least learn there weaknesses so if you come up against one you can dispose of them easily.
