The collection of arms and armor at the Wallace Collection is widely recognized as being one of the largest and most important in the world. Review

The recent appearance of two important volumes devoted to parts of the Wallace Collections could prove to be a watershed between the past and the future for that most magnificent of publishing beasts, the academic catalogue. Both the Catalogue of Glass and Limoges Painted Enamels and Masterpieces of European Arms and Armour are as beautifully presented and generously illustrated as they are well researched. --The Times, 3.12.2011

5.0 out of 5 stars No question about it. 17 April 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book is amazing, it blew me away. I have been a "metalhead" for years now, and this book is the best I have ever read. It's not only a book of beautiful and artistic pictures of armor, it also has information of every photo. It's perfect for a veteran armor enthusiast like my self, but it's also a perfect to everyone that has a slightest interest in the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much more than just a catalogue 15 Aug 2012
Format:Paperback
Highly recommended for anyone interested in this subject. If you have already visited the Wallace Collection, it will inspire you to return. If you have not yet visited, what's keeping you?!
Comprehensive, well presented and easy to read, either to "dip into" or cover to cover. Illustrations are superb and set a benchmark for other museums' catalogues. More than enough detail to educate an enthusiastic hobbyist like me but not overbearing to daunt those with a more casual interest.
A great souvenir, catalogue and reference book.
