Considering this book is written by MS it isn't very comprehensive. The subjects are only briefly covered and there is no full explanation as to why you're doing something, just the fact that you have to. Also, a really annoying part is the constant paragraphs which say "For more information on.....please refer to the Visual Basic help files". Come on Microsoft what do we need the book for if it's all in the help files? The book also claims to get you to create a full featured database solution, well, to say that's a bit liberal with the truth is an under statement. I have several years VB programming experience and bought the book with a view to sitting my MCP, if this is the level of programming required to pass an MCP I wish I had saved my money on the book and just sat the exam. In spite of what I have just said, if you're at an intermediate level and want to learn how to use ActiveX and ADO then the book should prove useful. Another plus is that the CD which accompanies the book has all the samples, demos and labs which are used in the book as well as some intuitive multimedia tutorials.
