This is an update book for SP1 and as such is bang up to date and now includes interoperability with Windows 2008.
The exception to this statement is the ability to integrate with Sharepoint is however not really covered. In any depth
As a technical administrators book rather than brief overview, this tome runs to 950 pages. As you would expect design, configuration, replication, backup and recovery are all well covered. It starts with the basic of the management console before rapidly moving to mailboxes, public folders clustering , routing and Outlook clients. Almost too much to cover in a simple review.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a detailed breakdown of all the major cmdlets as they apply to each topic. This is something few Exchange manuals actually go down to the detail level with. So this book is ideal for those familiar with Powershell or keen to move beyond the GUI.

Although I've not yet finished reading this book, I've found it to be both a very good primer for those contemplating installing Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 but also an excellent source as a reference manual. When we finally begin installation, it'll probably be the closest book to hand!!

Great Book.. Big Book 26 Oct 2009
By DALTON JOHNSON - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
There's a lot to read and understand for an Exchange Newbie but, if you've got the server in front of you, this book gives you an excellent base for your experience to build on. The author gives a good messaging system review and then dives into what's new. An experienced Exchange Admin shouldn't have any problem picking up Exchange 07 knowledge and he/she reads on but may likely be searching for the next generation exchange server guide by the time they finish this one. It's a thorough book, indeed.

Missing lots of parts 6 July 2010
By zakmanx - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The book is very general and basically just a high level overview. I would not recommend this book at all. I installed a fresh Exchange 2007 server and found much more detailed information on the web. Save your money.
