I just wanted to add to the review re:kindle edition, by reviewing my hard copy which came with the CD. The two learning resources work very well together; personally I worked through the book using the files on the disk and referred to a number of tutorials to re-inforce the learning curve where necessary. Although a newcomer to CAD, I felt confident using the software in no time. The only negative to the book in my opinion is that the focus in on imperial measurements. Clearly a significant attempt had been made to make the book relevant to those familiar with metric systems as well but this was not as easy to follow. Nevertheless this book has served me well!

A very useful book which takes you through the learning process step by step. Perhaps more attention should be paid to the metric user as George seems to forget about that occasionally.
As a Mac user I found it difficult to follow at times, owing to the Mac version of AutoCAD being different from the Windows version.

This is the best book I ever bought to self teach new application. It starts from simple project and builds on it to more complicated. The DVD which comes in with it is very useful even though it goes only up to the chapter five, but after this chapter you now the basics, you understand how the application works and you can draw 2D plans, forms, etc.
With this book you can learn AutoCAD at home at your own pace. With some practice you can become very good at it.
It is the MUST have book for someone who wants to learn application.
