I'm glad I came across this kettle as my preliminary searches for a fine quality stove-top kettle came up with poorer quality, but more expensive, items (le Creuset & Alessi). This one is relatively inexpensive compared to those, and satisfyingly robust and old-fashioned. Yep, it takes a few minutes to boil ~ relax! Bake some bread; do the washing-up; listen to 'The Archers' while you wait. Built to withstand catering level abuse but shiny enough to cherish for a lifetime at home.

We needed a new kettle and invested in this one.
Good points are that its really solid and feels really nice to hold (solid feeling), it pours really well and the handle is far enough from the top as not to get too hot!
The bad point is that it doesn't' have a whistle, which i like on my kettle.
Overall this kettle will last you ages and boil day in day out, just remember its on!

We wanted a kettle to put on top of our wood burner as it seemed a shame not to use the heat. This is a good looking, strong and durable kettle and fits the bill exactly. We can have a hot drink anytime without using electricity and even use the hot water from it to wash up,saving on fuel here too.

Don't get it!
I didn't think you could really go wrong, choosing a kettle, but unfortunately we did. This kettle takes FOREVER to boil - water for two cups of tea takes nearly 15 minutes!!! Read more

good big kettle
good sized kettle almost seems a shame to put it on the fire it's so shiny
