Very pleased to find this as all of those in the shops (having searched a lot) do not have the "wire"type design. Had found only those with thick strips of metal which cannot work as well on rubbing the fat into the flour (they must squash the fat as opposed to making fine pieces).
Price was more than I'd paid for the one I was replacing which had a wooden handle (these have apparently disappeared altogether), but not unreasonable for a strong, quality product.
The height of this one is much more than the old wooden one; good for men to use. I would prefer the smaller size but these seem impossible to find now.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to bake foods such as scones, crumbles and cakes that use "rubbing-in" method.
I teach baking and English Afternoon Tea and always advise my students to buy one.
