My wife and I usually make cakes far to big for the two of us now the children have left home, and we both tend towards greedy.

It is lovely to have found this small cake tin and to be able to enjoy occasional cakes but have fewer calories whilst doing so, which means fewer potential pounds added to the waist because of those second helpings on too many Sunday afternoons!

As far as recipes go I would recommend experimenting with approximately half or just less than the half the usual recipe quantities for cakes, aiming at creating effectively 4 restaurant/cafe size slices (cut crossways like thick bread), as it is relatively quite deep and also cook for 10 minutes less than a given recipe states.

Although it is expensive for the size, being quite small, think extra large pork pie size in the shops. The quality is really excellent, non stick, quality thick steel, it will last for ever. A previous reviewer mentioned sharp edges, there are none on mine anywhere.

I've bought 3 of these and they are exactly the same as the one I had already bought from Lakeland! That one was far more expensive but of excellent quality. I've used all of them several times - the pork pie recipe that comes with this tin makes the best one I've ever eaten!! I had no luck with making the jelly though!

I think the price is a little dear for a small 4 inch cake pan, however if you want durability, quality and ease of use then you have to pay for it. I love how small and cute this product is and it is so glossy and thick i can feel he quality oozing off it. (yes i know I'm gushing!) This is not my only master class product and i am pleased with all of them. i think in the long run they do pay for them selves. I think sometimes getting a cake out of a small tin is a bit fiddly and you forget this fact. This has a loose bottom which makes it easier and pretty much flawless cakes each time!

I needed a very small tin for the top layer of a wedding cake and this one suits the bill exactly. It is very substantial and £2 cheaper than an identical one in a retail outlet. My only criticism is the packaging, it was just in a Jiffy bag so the postman didn't bother to knock on the door to deliver it, he tucked one corner of the bag into the letter box and left the item hanging on the outside of the door. Fortunately I was at home at the time (the postman couldn't have known this as I was upstairs at the back of the house)otherwise anyone could have helped themselves.

Have just purchased a second batch of these tins. I was so pleased with the first batch.

On washing the new tins prior to their first use, as recommended, I found I had cut my finger. On closer inspection of the tins, the small hole at the bottom of the main body of the tins is sharp and rough. Which is a bit disappointing. The first Batch of tins I bought were fine.

They are super tins apart from the fault mentioned above.
By all means purchase these tins, just watch your fingers.

Bought this cake tin to bake a mini mousse cake for a friend. However, after pouring the mousse mixture in the cake tin, I accidentally lift the base up with my thumb when I shifted the tin to another counter. Hence, the mousse mixture began to leak. I wouldn't say it's the tin's fault but because of my own carelessness. Nevertheless, be very careful with the base as a slight move can cause the mixture to leak easily.

I bought this pan hoping to use it to create a tower cake and it works wonderfully. I bought two and baked them together with two of the 6 inch pans from the same style on a baking tray which worked well. This is a nice deep pan that allows you to cut layers into your cake but because the base is loose the cake comes out cleanly and easily. The pans also came even earlier than expected.

Great size and perfect for a small Christmas cake. Good quality and looks like it will last years. Cake didn't stick at all, and the loose bottom is very useful. Would definitely recommend.
