Amazon.co.uk Review
Clare Maxwell-Hudson has been studying and researching massage techniques and health and beauty in many different cultures for the last three decades. In this book she gives her readers the opportunity to learn about these techniques.
Due to the excellent detailed guide and illustrations, this book helps the reader to grasp the skills necessary to make a massage effective and fulfilling.
This book is easy to read and is broken down in to stages, the first being "preparing to massage" which is then followed by "learning to massage". Once these initial steps have been learned the chance is there for the reader to follow through a massage which they feel will be most satisfying to themselves or their partner.
In this book there are a variety of fascinating massages to learn and try. Not only are they interesting to read about but they also give us insight into how different cultures relax and revitalise their bodies.
There are massages for specific groups of people, for example the elderly, pregnant women and athletes. There is also a section for all those beauty kings and queens who want to fully indulge in pampering their bodies to get rid of any cellulite and stay feeling and looking younger than ever.
The only drawback to this book is that it is a time-consuming hobby which involves the extra expense of buying the "essential oils" needed for massage. Apart from this small point, the author provides a comprehensive guide to successful and effective massage. --Louise Coyle
