This is a good book for getting an overview of some specific techniques of massage. I didn't need an instruction book, just something so that I know the difference in various types of massage, and this gave me what I needed. There are pictures and if one were wanting to actually do these massages, I'm sure you could. That just wasn't what I needed it for.
