4.0 out of 5 stars Good but worth the price? 10 Feb 2014

I am a big fan of the ME series and decided to get one of these to start a ME collection of some sort. First of all the, omniblade is very fragile so be careful when putting it on. The face detail isn't great either (though the armor is quite good). It's made of plastic although its well made and very solid. If your a die hard ME fan then its probably a good addition. It will look good on the shelf with my Normandy replica :D

this figurine is totally worth the money even though mines was used and without the box but with all accessorries and in perfect condition it is a very articulated figure and you can put him in a variety of poses this is a must for the ultimatemass effect fan some people have complained about this shephards headsculpt but they seem to forget it is a video game and it is extremely hard to replicate a video game character this figure gets a ten out of ten from me as i mentioned before i got it second hand for 20 pounds but in perfect condition with all accesories get this figure as soon as they wont be around forever also check out the other characters like garrus and ashely plus this december a new female shephard and tali figure is being released

3.0 out of 5 stars Some odd design choices hinder what could have been 30 Dec 2012

Let me start by saying that I'm not new to the Play Arts/Play Arts Kai lines. I have been collecting them since they only featured Final Fantasy characters. These figures are honestly pretty hit and miss, usually because of durability. Or lack thereof. These Mass Effect figures aren't their least durable but they certainly don't feel particularly sturdy.
Now, onto the quality of the figure's sculpt. The head looks awful and the shoulders are cartoonishly broad. The face on this figure is just God awful. I don't know how the sculptor and his employers found it to be satisfactory. It's ugly, too small for the figure and looks nothing like Commander Shepard.
The paint on the figure is mostly great except for on the face. Awful paint on the face makes an awful head sculpt even worse.
The articulation is pretty great but I'm worried about breakage. The ankles and hips seem like they may snap at any moment. I would suggest picking a pose you like and not disturbing the figure again.

So all in all, a mixed bag. The head is the major detracting factor but if that doesn't bother you as much as it does me then you will like this figure.

im just going to do a VERY basic review about this product. Youtube has some pretty good video reviews on it. Overall the figure is really cool and great for Mass Effect fans/collectors. My biggest problem is the face sculpt and paint. It really doesn't look like Commander Shepard. At all. And the colors they used to paint the face are...odd. Commander Shepard looks sea, or rather space, sick. Its a weird mix between peach, brown, and green. Other than that, figure is pretty awesome

3.0 out of 5 stars Shepard, your face! 11 Mar 2013

I don't have a problem with the fact that they chose to go with default Shepard (DefShep, if you will), but the face just looks terrible. It's not even the same color as his neck. Everything else looks great though, especially the omniblade. I kinda wish I went with the Femshep figure instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great quality - very slight flaws 4 Jan 2013

This is a very high quality action figure. It has good range of motion, and a nice selection of parts that come with it. Build quality is high. As I have seen noted elsewhere, the face is NOT a dead ringer for CDR Shepard - kind of Asian looking. But, not a show stopper. My son loved this.

As a HUGE Mass Effect Fan, I'm always thrilled to have more merchandise for the series. This is no exception. This figure is, simply speaking, awesome. I mean, sure the face is a "bit" "different" compared to face in-game, but whatever. I, unlike some, can see past it.
