Format:Audio CD
The Green Day/U2 collaboration on The Saints are Coming has lead to the unearthing of this previously unavailable live material so we have to thank them for that. Any Skids fan will be aware that the late Stuart Adamson was to Richard Jobson what Johnny Marr was to Morrisey, and it just wasnt the same after they split. The track listing for this Live CD is a Greatest Hits format with all the Skids Anthems and Big Guitars and I for one cant wait!

This release means so much to me because I was at the Glasgow Apollo show and it was my first experience of live music.I was 15 years old and totally captivated by The Skids music.The opening bass line of Into The Valley still,to this day raises the hairs on the back of my neck like nothing else.It was sad to see them consigned to the dustbin of music history by so-called music writers and self appointed experts.But now,a new generation is discovering their legacy and that can only be good.
Yes Jobson's lyrics could be pretentious and mystifying but,Stuart Adamson's guitar work more than made up for these minor flaws.
At the end of the show,they invited a punk onstage to sing Tv Stars with them...I can still hear the howls of laughter from the band as the guy mentioned that he'd have to take out his false teeth.
As I say,my first gig....one of many but, to this day...Still the best!

Excellent CD for any fan of rock music not just The Skids or Big Country.
The songs on this CD are timeless even though they were wrote nearly 30 years ago. My personal favs, after only a few listens are "Into the Valley/Sloop Johnny B. and Masquerade.
Like the other reviewer mentioned anything with the late great Stuart Adamson on is definitely worth a listen. In my opinion his talent was VASTLY underrated.
I would put this CD up there with anything else I've listened to that's a live compilation.

I saw the Skids Live on 2 occasions in the late 70's/early 80's and each time they were brilliant. This album does capture the essence of those times as well as any live album can... Read more

About Time
Can't wait, anything Stuart Adamsons on needs buying. Skids were the first big band i saw and Stuart became one of my hero's. Really looking forward to this release, full of gems
