I love to cook using new ways, and was very happy to receive my Mason Tagine which looks good and can result
in tasty meals...However, after successfully cooking my first chicken meal, it seems the Tagine cannot take heat higher than the lowest setting possible, as having turned the heat on the hob up to a 'medium' heat a crack developed in the base unit :( Now I am worried to use it again in case the entire base brakes with hot food inside....
If this is in fact the case, the product should come with clear warnings on the label to state 'ONLY USE ON LOW HEAT LEVELS' as I am sure anyone would consider this item to be completely heat proof considering its solely designed to cook food. I was very surprised and disappointed to find the hairline crack in the base unit when washing up, and could only imagine it was a result of turning the gas hob up to a medium heat before simmering! As I did not wash it up until it was completely cold......I did manage to purchase this item during a sale, otherwise I would have been VERY disappointed, although it seems I have still wasted money on this item. So I would suggest this item is used with extreme caution if you actually want it to last any period of time... Weep Weep
