Product Description

A searingly sexy American lesbian indie, Mary Marie is a taboo-busting drama guaranteed to intrigue and excite audiences in equal measure. After the death of their mother, sisters Mary and Marie decide to spend a final, idyllic summer in the home where they grew up. An exceptionally close pair, they spend their time alone, swimming, exploring and reminiscing, their intimacy growing stronger and stronger until it s clear that the are crossing the usual familial boundaries. When the arrival of a visitor threatens to break their seemingly unshakable bond ,the course of the summer takes an unpredictable turn and the nature of their relationship appears threatened forever. A dazzling, inventive take on the intimacy that develops between two women, Mary Marie is unmissable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing 9 Dec 2012
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Very slow, the story is weird, you don't understand what's going on between the two protagonists. It feels like the film director wouldn't want the heroines to be who they truly are...until the last 5 seconds of the film.

5.0 out of 5 stars Controversial and unpredictable! 10 Sep 2012

I really liked Mary Marie for its' controversial subject. I believe that true art has to fight against the so called acceptable values. I do not agree that the acting is bad, on the contrary the audience needs to work on the subtext of what is going on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mary Marie is a dreamy mysterious enchanting story 13 Dec 2012
By katherine mitchell - Published on Amazon.com

Mary Marie is a really interesting independent movie, obviously made by people who love good story telling. It is quite mysterious because you don't really know what Mary and Marie's relationship is? The filmmakers are aiming high and they mostly pull it off.

The acting is really good and the film makers set up their shots well and are decent editors. Quite professionally done for a small film. It is really intriguing and dreamy the two woman flirt with a guy and bring him into their relationship/friendship and mess around with his affections. Their bond seems really strong and it it cool that their relationship remains a mystery till the end. The two actresses are really beautiful woman and it is interesting to see a movie that doesn't feel that you have to spell everything out. We all have imaginations after all. Recommended.
1.0 out of 5 stars What a waste of time and money. 15 Mar 2013

Not engaging, nor was it entertaining. Poor acting. Story line lacked substance. This was a complete waste of time to watch. I'm sorry I bought it.
