I ordered this book for my son but it was my husband who opened the Amazon box and was grossly involved with the wonders of this book before anyone else could get a look in! It's about time someone presented Maths in an exciting and fun way!
Don't be fooled into thinking 8 pages won't deliver much, this book punches way above its weight and is full of nooks and crannies that will keep you engaged for many, many hours. I love the fact that in one flap, you can find out how a librarian who lived in ancient Egypt was able to calculate the measurement of the earth using a stick and a few camels.
This book is extremely well written and superbly illustrated. It definitely lives up to its name, "Marvellous Maths". I highly recommend it.
(Also, if you are a student teacher, it is well worth looking at this book for inspiration for lessons.)
