This single is brill, great vocals from Dave, Depeche mode deserve more recognition for the music that they create. This single is well worthy of the top 10 in any charts!!

I must admit as a huge DM fan, I didn't immediately think this was a great record (particularly as almost all of their singles have sounded excellent on the first play). However, after only a few plays I really like it and think that Martin Gore has written some his strongest lyrics on a song to date.

It's a shame that there wasn't a 'proper' promo video that accompanied the release, but the montage does work and has been well edited.

My favourite mix is the Booka Shade Full Vocal Mix edit on CDBONG39, though I have to say I was incredibly dissapointed with Digitalism's remix of Never Let Me Down Again on LCDBONG39

Depeche Mode never fail to deliver - hence why they are MTV's best band in Europe. Martyr is a real stomping anthem with a bursting guitar riff and catchy electronics. It takes it place rightly amongst the bands' greatest powerful melodies - many of which are found with Martyr on the forthcoming Greatets Hits Volume 1.
