Manufacturer's Description

The Story of Marshall…So far!

Rock ‘n’ roll has created the world and no brand has shaped rock ‘n’ roll more than Marshall. Like all supreme forms of life, rock ‘n’ roll and Marshall rests on top of creation not as a result of conscious calculation but has gained their symbiotic power by trusting instincts, being unpredictable and keeping both ears open.

Marshall was spawned in the early 1960’s by Jim Marshall who, by request from young guitarists Pete Townshend and Richie Blackmore, started selling guitar equipment in his drum store. Jim soon begun building his own amplifiers and thanks to his unprejudiced mind combined with certain twists of electrical fate, the Marshall amplifiers were blessed with a sound much heavier than anything heard before. The Marshall sound was born and the tone for the future of rock ‘n’ roll had been set.

The revolutionizing Marshall amplifiers were soon picked up by the era’s most progressive rock ‘n’ roll rebels. The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton were some of the legends to be who felt that they could use the Marshall sound to change popular music into something completely new. Marshall’s keen ear to the demands of these artists together with unforeseen changes in production and materials kept the Marshall sound evolving, entangled as one with that of rock ‘n’ roll. Rock ‘n’ roll has changed a lot since these days but its soul remains the same. With Marshall Headphones it is now time for Marshall and rock ‘n’ roll to introduce yet another bold push into the unknown.

The Major FX...

The Major FX encloses vast amounts of the massive Marshall legacy. They have a simple, yet stylish one colour design in classic black or white that has real eye-catching impact. In addition to this great look, it incorporates quite a few exciting features.

The exterior of the headband is made out of the same vinyl used in Marshall amplifiers and it bears the original Marshall texture. The super soft ear cushion means no matter how hard and heavy the music, the super soft cushions will rest lightly upon your eyes, so no matter how long you’re listening to your favourite music, you will not endure sore or aching ears. The Major FX comes equipped with an Apple certified microphone and remote with the addtional functionality of volume control. This means that you can take calls and pause and play your music with ease. The Major is delivered with a 6.3 mm adapter for use with with your amplifier, stereo or any sound source adhering to the 6.3 mm. This makes these headphones compatible with both 3.5mm and 6.3mm music players. Furthermore, the fully collapsible construction means if you by chance would like to take The Major FX off of your head, they are foldable for easy storage and transportation.

Combined with excellent audio and a tangle resistant fabric cord the Major FX is a solid workhorse with great stamina, designed with non-stop, all-day listening in mind. Rock and Roll to your favourite music today with Marshall Major FX Headphones – Black!

The Marshall Major FX headphones were something I first saw and tried in a local high street store. The price in the high street store was something that put me off, so I came to Amazon and found the same product for almost half the price. Result! I was wholly impressed by how much better they made even my most rubbish quality tracks sound. Generally I'm more of a rock music listener, but the bass on this is all-consuming and its just...phenomenal sound. Couldn't get over it. As a result, I've started seeking out dubstep and songs with deep bass. Listening to music with a good pair of headphones also makes you aware of layers of sounds you probably can't hear with a standard pair of cheap gummy earphones.

I was initially hesitant about buying headphones as I usually have issues with the cups that go over your ears being too big, or too small, so that it would feel painful after a few hours of listening. My ears are tiny any way, and these are cushioned very nicely and fit snugly on my head, with room to make them tighter against my head or looser depending if I want to listen with a beanie on. The fact that they're not huge, either, is good, because I have a pea-sized head. The curly cord on the wire is a useful feature, tangle issues are non-existent. Finally, the gold-plated jack gives it a more sophisticated and expensive feel. In short, they're worth every penny.

I bought these at a third of high street price on Amazon, so i base my review on what I paid.
First glance; Handsome and expensive looking, with soft cushions, and the unmistakable Marshall branding. Felt very well made, with a nice signature on the sturdy leather type headband.

Fit and sound; felt like marshmallows on my large head, very soft and comfy. The sound of Beatles let it be, was awesomely clear and concise, and generally all music sounds pretty good, but best with rock. I had them on an hour before needing to adjust them for comfort.

All in all a great product which goes nice and loud through my Ipod, I use them on the train with no complaints from other passengers, if not on high volume. There are better types out there with open backs like Grado's Sr60i, but you could never use them on public transport!

Awesome headphones (and I use Shure SE520's so use to quality sound). Play these in for about 6 hours and the response is lovely on the ear but has the deep punch that you need for a hard hitting rock track.

For this price point I have nothing bad to say. Great pair of headphones, durable, can chuck them in my gym bag no worries. Sound quality is great but for myself, coming from a pair of Solo HD Beats I do find myself missing the overdone bass. Find my ears getting pretty hot whilst wearing them in the gym but nothing too serious. Otherwise good, comfortable pair of headphones.

Overall very happy for the daily headphones, would get something a bit more high-end for a long flight.

Amazaing Sound! Two stars less, for two major problems. First is that there are too thight, they hurt my ears after wearing them for longer then 1h. Second is collapsible part, fold them too many times and in that place they will fell apart, crush. I'm adding a photo. Beside that, they're awesome. But Marshall is selling now new version of that headphones. I'm about to buy them, as I noticed, they fixed all problems i mentioned. So Marshall, stop selling those and focus on new ones and improving them:) Glad to help both sides :)

Wow... I've have wanted a pair of these since I read a preview years ago. Seeing the price I thought have to buy a pair.

Couldn't have been more let down! First problem I was sent the 'Major' not the 'Major FX'

Secondly, the pads haven't been sealed correctly and are coming away at the seams.

Lastly the sound was tinny and distorted at high volume.

All in all, no where near the quality I would have expected from Marshall.

If the basic apple ear pods are 5/10, these are 6/10 on the sound quality. I appreciate the Marshall's are full size etc and leak less sound out and fit around the ears (too tightly if I have to say) but they are not a sonic generation above the ear pods. I have only used both with my 5S and hence the review should be considered with this limitation. music listened to is Modern Rock- Biffy Clyro / Seether etc

Done a bit of research before buying these and i am not disappointed great quality, great price and great sound. Really like the look of the headphones and they a out of the box comfortable. For the £52.00 i paid for these i am very happy. iPhone connectivity works well with no problems. Only problem is there is no case or pouch to keep them but for the price i am not complaining.
