This guide covers over 600 species from predatory dinosaurs to primitive amphibians, from giant armoured fish to mammoths and sabertooths. Accompanying each illustration are biographies of the creatures, detailing how these animals moved, behaved, and what they ate. 3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good,but.... 19 Oct 2001
I like this book, especially the drawings in it,but
it really only scratches the surface when talking about a particular animal.Of course the subject is very broad,so it's hard to get a concise book
made easily.Nevertheless I can recommend this book as an overall look at life in the past.

An over priced reprint of previous material. Most of the restorations can be found in a previous book that is much more comprehensive.
