Bought this for my sons 11th birthday as he is having a Lego revival. He was into Mars Mission Lego when it first came out, sadly Lego have discontinued the range but this set was a find. Its a shame that Lego don't do a space range of Lego any more as my son is really into space, rockets, space fantasy etc, which is why Mars Mission really appealed. This set at £[] is not a bad price for Lego considering that its a large set: box is 22.5" x 15" x 2.5".
It builds a battle ship as well as the main drill walker thingy - the latter fires a weapon and has a working drill, with characters and monster etc. The set also works really well added into existing Mars Mission sets.
My son is currently using the new set with much more of his Lego to create an alien battle scene in his bedroom........
However the really great thing about Lego is the joy of building the sets in the first place, and the fact that you can use the pieces to recreate your own fantasy space ships and more; the only limit is your stock of Lego and your imagination! As usual Lego does not disappoint.
The other great thing about Lego is that its a toy that lasts for ever, in its durability and its appeal.
