This is the ninth - of eleven - season of married with children, a superb american sitcom that ran from the mid 80's to mid 90's. see the reviews of season one for why it's so great. Now, the last three seasons of the show, for some reason, never get repeated on british tv anymore. The repeats never go further than season eight.
For fans who want the last three seasons, and don't want to wait for an eventual british region two dvd, this is a godsend. this is a region two collection of season nine, and it comes from the netherlands. Whilst the writing on the box and the inlay is all in the dutch, the text on the discs is in english, as is the main language track. If you want to hear it in dutch activate the subtitles.
Thus it will work on british dvd players without you having to switch the subtitles on.
The entire season is spread over four discs, and on the last disc you will find two extra programmes:
my favourite married, a half hour show made during this season with the cast discussing their favourite episodes from the first two hundred.
best of bundy: a half hour long clip show, hosted by a presenter making some good humourous asides, showing clips from the first two hundred episodes. The show reached it's two hundredth episode during this season.
One minor surprise is that the theme tune is different to the first eight seasons. I am advised by another reviewer that this is because of rights issues with the sinatra estate, which meant that the tune had to be changed for the dvds of seasons three to eleven.
Seasons ten and eleven are also available in this format. and I will get them as soon as I can
