Book Description

He woke up to discover two days of his life completely gone.

Workaholic Boston blueblood Dean has made it his life's goal to be the opposite of his irresponsible, womanizing father.

But Dean discovers that while in a hypnotic trance he'd acted exactly like his father, travelling to Las Vegas where he'd wooed and wed some sexy, airhead dancer.

Now, Kelly may be sexy, but she's no airhead. She knows the cold and puritanical man who claims to be her husband is not the man she'd married. But she suspects the warm and tender man she does love is buried somewhere deep inside. And she's determined to find him...

4.0 out of 5 stars Cinderella in sequins 6 Mar. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
At first glance, this book looks unpromising.Readers are expected to believe that a powerful business magnate is hypnotised by his nine year old half brother, goes to Las Vegas and meets and marries a Vegas showgirl after a courtship of two days.He goes out to buy doughnuts, but doesn't come back.He then 'snaps' out of the trance, returns to his real life, not remembering anything about the woman he married.
Kelly, the showgirl, is a Cinderella in disguise, not the morally loose gold digger that the term 'Show Girl' usually conjures up. She has one of her erstwhile 'husband's' business cards and follows him to Boston, intending to have it out with him.
Dean is appalled that he married someone so unsuitable, he doesn't remember her but decides to do the right thing and takes her to his posh house to live with him on a two month trial.
Dean has 'daddy issues': a feckless father with a penchant for showgirls and other romantic mesalliances.Dean doesn't see himself having his father's proclivities and sees himself as a decent man in an awkward situation.
I thought this was another 'Pretty Woman' story-done to death.I downloaded it because it was free and I thought this would pass an afternoon.
I was wrong. This is a sweet little 'love' story. You find yourself rooting for Dean and Kelly.
Whilst it will never be classed as a great book, it is readable and fun.I won't say I loved it, but I did like it very much.

This is a story of a Las Vegas dancer and a wealthy business man I found that I wanted to read and read and read. It was well written and a great storyline. I loved the characters in particular Dean who although he had loads of money he needed love. I would recommend this story to everyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Farfetched but a fun read 31 Mar. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I find this a hard book to review. In terms of plot I would give it one or two stars; in terms of dragging me in and making me root for the characters it rates a 4 or 5. I have therefore settled in the middle with 3 stars.
Part way through the first chapter, I nearly gave up and deleted this ebook from my Kindle.
The plotline is too farfetched and unbelieveable and the characters in some senses very two dimensional.
However, somewhere in the writing I started to get interested in the characters and in the end this was a fun pageturner for me.
There is little grey in this book. The two main characters seem to be towards the extreme ends of emotional intelligence, and it is the use of extremes both in the initial positioning and the speed with which this changes, that lets the book down.
There is a side plot involving two other characters and I am mystified as to what this added.
Yet despite its flaws something kept me reading.
If you can get beyond the intial premise and the inevitability of the conclusion and stick with it, this is a fun holday read.

4.0 out of 5 stars ''Easy entertaining reading'' 12 Mar. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Althought the plot at the beginning seems very far fetched about getting wed under a hypnotic state, the story unfolds as 'Kelly and Dean' get to know each other. You really want this story to have a happy ending. Beautifully written and well rounded love story (not in a mushy way).Lots of emotional twists and turns. A very engaging read which I recommend to all you 'chic-lit' fans. Thank goodness it was on my kindle as so tempted to turn to last page to find out if they were meant to be together or not. Will be checking for other titles by this author.....Recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Unputdownable 16 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book at first seems like a normal every day run of the mill story... but then wow... what a turn around. I started to read further into this book and just could not put it down. Every available opportunity I would read just a little more... it is a fantastic story. This book makes you enjoy all of the highs and the lows with the characters, your emotions follow those of the characters. This is a must read... Trust me, you will not be able to put it down once you start it.
The two main characters in the book are easy to relate to as everyone knows someone just like them. Alan Sugar springs to mind there.

4.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 Stars for this surprising read... 3 May 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was all over the place, there were lots I liked about it, yet lots I wasn't so keen on either...

Kelly - the main female protagonist was actually really nice, I liked her throughout the book, the best word I can think to describe her is 'warm'
Dean - I'm still in two minds about Dean... he was such a cold fish and his feelings were on and off more than my bathroom light.
The characters were so opposite and they ignored each other for so long I wondered a few times what they were trying to accomplish with the trial period.

As storylines go this was okay but not exactly what I expected...
The basis of guy marrying girl after a whirlwind romance in Vegas is pretty standard, having him forget his whole trip because he was hypnotised was pretty ridiculous, but I found it entertaining nonetheless.
I really liked Dean's cousin Troy and his story, and the addition of his little brother Robbie - who is more like a son to him really - brings a nice family vibe to the book and was probably what swayed my decision to keep reading and I'm pleased I did... it was probably waaaayyy past the 60% mark when I felt like I connected with it... but once I did I couldn't put it down.

The ending was great If not a bit predictable... on the whole it's a pretty frustrating read - if Kelly had said 'my Dean' one more time I swear I was going to hurt my kindle lol, but it was also entertaining, funny, it pulled at the heart strings a few times and some of the sex scenes were pretty hot...

Recommended for 18+ because of language and sexual content ;)
