Product Description

Wallpaper* City Guides not only suggest where to stay, eat, and drink, but what the tourist passionate about design might want to see, whether he/she has a week or 24 hours in the city. Featured are up and coming areas, landmark buildings in an 'Architour', design centres, and the best shops to buy items unique to that city. Wallpaper* City Guides present travellers with a fast-track ticket to the chosen location. The edited guides offer the best, most exciting, and the most beautiful of that particular city. As well as looking beautiful, the guides are expertly designed with function as a priority, and have tabbed sections so that readers can easily find the information they are looking for. The guides include rate and currency information, maps and a colour-coding system to help you navigate the different parts of the city. They are the ultimate combination of form and function.

About the Author

Wallpaper* City Guides are compiled and updated by the magazine's travel experts, both by in-house editors and correspondents who actually live in the highlighted cities, providing up-to-the-minute information.

By Peter M
Format:Paperback
I purchased the book ahead of our first week-long trip to Marrakech. It is nicely designed, each page containing a 3/4 page image and a bit of text. As a proper travel guide, this publication is however absolutely useless. There is virtually no practical information, and it seems to be designed for people who have their own driver taking them to a few select destinations. Most of the book refers to dining and accommodation, and here it seems more like a beautifully designed advertisement brochure, so it doesn't even do to show others about sites and a flavour of the city, as all you get is lots of pictures of bedrooms, interiors of restaurants and shops. There is no useful reference of the venues discussed to a map, so even for preparing our trip, this little booklet was nice to look at for five minutes, but after that I didn't even bother taking it along to Morocco. If it would have been more expensive, I would have returned it straight away. Can't really imagine whom this would appeal to, or who would come up with a travel guide concept that's actually entirely useless for an ordinary tourist traveller. If there was a zero star rating, this book would deserve it.
