Product Description

The Powermid XL Marmitek is a smart IR-wireless extension system to operate your DVD player, TV, satellite system, stereo, etc. from almost every room. Simply put, it extends the power of your remote control allowing its signal to penetrate walls and ceilings, giving you a successful wireless solution to expand the signal of your remote control. The operation is simple and brilliant: Highlights Operation possible for a DVD player, TV, satellite equipment, stereo equipment, etc. from any room in Up to 100 meters transmission distance, 25 meters through walls and ceilings Converts IR signal from remote control radio signal Works with virtually any original remote control, suitable for almost all models (not compatible with Bang & Olufsen) No expensive and difficult installation of the equipment necessary

Manufacturer's Description

The Marmitek PowerMid XL infrared extender set allows you to control your TV, VCR, satellite receiver or audio installation from anywhere in the house using your existing remote controls - even through walls and floors. Simply place the transmitter in the room from which you want to control the equipment, and the receiver within sight of the equipment you wish to control. The PowerMid receiver converts the infrared (IR) signal from your remote and converts it to a radio frequency (RF) transmission which is picked up by the receiver which then converts it back to infrared. If your equipment is hidden away in a cupboard then you can connect an optional Marmitek IR Eye infrared extender cable to the receiver and you can control the equipment without having to open the cupboard doors.

Extra transmitters and receivers are available separately so that you can control your equipment from different rooms and/or control equipment located in more than one room.

Should have bought this years ago(remote extender set and extra transmitter), no more running downstairs to change the channel or rewind sky plus cos u missed a bit!! This worked straight from the box, no setting up it is foolproof!! unless you didn't read the product info like another reviewer on the 2nd feb 09> This only replicates your remote(full sky Plus features)in another room,, it does not transmit the sky pictures to the other room!.. you need a splitter and cable for that(i already had the pictures cabled in but had no skybox control)Neat and unobtrusive i love it, The transmitter is the bit for your bedroom, the reciever is the bit for in front of the skybox, i bought an extra transmitter so i can control sky from my sons room- I also bought an exra remote control so i can leave one upstairs.. Buy It>> you will not regret it.. ahh what program shall i record.. from my bedroom!! top bit of kit.. my brother in law has had his for 7 years and it still works seamlessly.. great seller..great product.. never need to leave the bed..well except for work!!

These cheeky little pyramids simply sorted out my need to control my satelite TV from the bedroom.
Everything works just as if you are sitting in the same room as the main decoder box.
(all you need is a power point and somewhere to sit the pyramids).

I bought this because I wanted to put our DVD and V+ (cable box) in a closed sideboard. The little pyramids are funkily designed and smaller than expected, 11cms tall. The pyramids worked first time after a very simple installation. Overall: very chuffed.

Needed an IR extender kit to work alongside an existing CCTV system ( remote control ) where the DVR was securely kept well away from the monitor - tried this kit and I must say it does exactly what 'it states on the tin' - in this situation its going through two floors so idea for my application, no issues so far at all !

Dont worry about size as they are really smaller compared to what you see as images on various sites - refer to actual dimensions. Naturally these units need mains power via the supplied adapters, again the cables on these are fairly generous

I got these to try and get Sky into an upstairs room without having to buy a second box. I was very sceptical, but decided to give them a go, and I'm very glad I did. They do exactly what they say, and control the Sky box downstairs from upstairs using the original remote. The picture quality is fine, and there's no setting up involved, just put the transmitter in the room you want to use the remote in, and put the receiver near or on the unit you want to control. That's it. No physical connection, just plug into the mains and go.
These units don't send a video signal, you need to have a feed from Sky, if that's what you're using it for, to the tv you're viewing on. They just control the box via the remote, but I can't recommend them highly enough, I now have full Sky in a second floor attic bedroom for only about £20 including p and p! If that's what you're after, buy them!

The first thing to say about these pyramid shaped extenders is they are very discreet and can be left on show without looking out of place.Ive got the transmitter in the lounge about 15 ft from the sky box and it sends the signal without fail to the sky box and the reciever is upstairs below the second TV and you forget they are there just point your remote at the tv and the reciever picks up the signal and sends it downstairs it also controls my DVD player whatever remote you are using this will send the signal downstairs. This worked straight out the box i had no problems getting it to work although the instructions do give examples of when interference can occur but for me they are brilliant especially if you are having problems with the TV Link this totally does away with the need for them just plug the cable into your TV from your RF2 output of your sky box so you get the picture and sound and use this to turn over the sky channels.

I needed a wireless controller to change the Sky channels from another room in my house. I had previously tried two other makes [both more expensive than the Marmitek], both with intermittant performances leading to much frustration. The Marmitek worked first time and later I was able to connect to an IR Extender Cable [bought seperately from the supplier Let's Automate] and control my Sky box within a cabinet. A particular advantage of this kit was the flashing lights at each end when the remote was operated indicating the system was working.
