Product Description

Product Description

Marmite is not only renowned for its distinctive flavour, but it's also a good source of B vitamins, completely vegetarian, is a low fat food and is very low in sugar.

Marmite contains none of the major allergens. Some people might have a reaction to celery extract, a minor component of the spice extract that is listed in the ingredients.

B Vitamins

B vitamins play a crucial role in helping your body to function properly and Marmite, along with other foods, is a good source of these important nutrients. B vitamins are water soluble, which means that they are harder for your body to store so you need to get them from your food regularly.

Folic Acid

This is very important before and during pregnancy as it plays a vital role in the development of unborn babies and may help your blood and heart. It is found in green vegetables, peas and nuts, but your body also makes good use of the folic acid that is added to foods like Marmite.

Vitamin B12

This helps maintain your red blood cells. It is found mainly in animal products like meat, eggs and fish, so vegetarians need to look for alternative supplies of B12, like Marmite.

Salt

Salt is an essential part of our diet but only small amounts are required. Marmite spread contains salt, and this is something you should be aware of - particularly if you are following a restricted salt or low sodium diet.

Ingredients

Yeast Extract, Salt, Vegetable Extract, Niacin, Thiamin, Spice Extracts (contains Celery), Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12

Marmite- has to be an English Institution?

I love the stuff.
But watch out for the sell by date.

I really think you're better off buying it from the Super Markets.
A BIG Tip ALways go to the BACK of the Shelf thats where they put the latest sell by dates.
(with the shortest at the front)

Goes for stuff like Milk too!

Poor best before date 12 Oct 2011
By M. Trim
I received this today with a best before date of Dec 2011. Fair play to Amazon, I contacted them and they refunded my money, however I will now think twice before ordering more food from this website.

This is simply disgusting. I decided to try it and oh boy, I'll never repeat that mistake. The bad thing is that now I'm stuck with three unopened jars.

Not really fussed
I ate some of this stuff on some toast even though it is not a jam. It was OK. Not unpleasant, not special.

I really don't see what the fuss is all about. Read more

you either love it or hate it, I love it.
Particularly pleasing is the repeat order discount - as a marmite addict I will easily get thru 4 jars in 6 months - it ends up cheaper than the supermarket - any supermarket.

value for money
Our family loves Marmite and the purchase from Amazon was much cheaper than buying from a Supermarket and also with FREE delivery. What can you get better than that.
